The Materials of Umbrella Handles

Umbrella handles can be made of a wide range of materials, each material has its own characteristics and applied for different conditions. The following are some common handle materials:

  • Wooden handles:

1. The most commonly used woods include Hemu, which is a unique to China, plywood, acacia wood, and maple wood.

2. Except for plywood, other woods are solid woods.

3. Acacia wood is the lowest quality among solid woods; Hemu is slightly better, while maple wood is the best and most expensive.

4. Wooden handles are prone to cracking, so before it is made into handles, we dry woods completely .

5. Wooden handles are divided into curved handles or straight handles. Both short and long umbrellas use wooden handles.

  • Plastic Umbrella Handles:

1. We use PP, ABS, and EVA foam most frequently.

2. ABS can be electroplated, while PP cannot.

3. ABS is relatively brittle, resulting in a crisp sound when someone knock on it, while PP handles are softer and has a duller sound.

4. PP is mostly used for low-end umbrellas handles , while ABS is often used for high-end umbrellas handles.

5. EVA foam is commonly used to make curved handles, or combined with aluminum to create high-end straight handles.

  • Bamboo and Rattan Umbrella Handles:

1. Bamboo handles are typically made of bamboo roots, which are used for high-end umbrella and more expensive.

2. Rattan handles are woven by rattan strips.

3. Both can be made into curved or straight handles.

4. Aluminum Umbrella Handles:

1. Aluminum handles are lightweight and we usually apply anodizing and painting as surface treatments.

2. Aluminum handles can be made into straight and curved handles, and can also be combined with EVA foam.

  • Acrylic Umbrella Handles:

1. High-end umbrellas often use transparent acrylic handles.

2. They can be made into curved or straight handles and are commonly used for folding umbrellas.

3. They can be painted in a variety of colors, which is aesthetic and elegant.

  •  Leather Umbrella Handles:

1. Leather handles are popular for high-end umbrellas.

2. Both plastic and aluminum can be covered with leather, in which the most commonly is PU leather, or we use genuine cowhide or sheepskin for high-end umbrella handles.

  • Carbon Umbrella hanldes:

1.Ultimate Lightweighting: Its greatest advantage. It significantly reduces the overall weight of a tool, making it less tiring to use for extended periods. It is especially suited for tools that require frequent, rapid swinging or manipulation (e.g., screwdrivers, tennis rackets, bicycle handlebars).

2.High Strength and Rigidity: Offers high tensile strength and resists bending or deformation. This provides excellent operational precision and efficient power transfer.

3.Corrosion Resistance: Does not rust and is resistant to chemical corrosion, making it suitable for use in damp or harsh environments.

4.Excellent Vibration Dampening: The carbon fiber structure effectively absorbs a portion of vibrations, leading to more comfortable use.

5.Sleek and High-Tech Aesthetics: Features a unique woven texture and premium feel, giving it a very high-end, modern appearance.
